Inregards toresponses to the advertising and merchandising specific messages about gender in
the mass media; messages you have received from your family or cultural group and analyzes on
how these messages have influenced your experience with gender. Lastly, in the attempt of
explaining how might addressing these issues related to sexism in the mass media and diverse
cultural beliefs about gender and gender roles in your social work practice.

What we see on television today is women, children and men advertising to sell products.
According to Bligh et al. (2012), some factors represent substantial barriers toward females in
greater headship, such as cultural stereotype and sexism attitudes.Harbro presented marketing to
girls only since pinkand purple are considered girly; what if it advertised in blue and yellow
would girls not play with it? A person can say if a child wants to play with something colors
would not matter. (Press, 2012).
However, if one made aware pink is for girls blue is for boys, a child will then began
stereotyping toward purple, blues and pink. In history men never bake or cook it was only
women; today times some men prefer in the kitchen and are great cooks matter of fact some are
