My academic SMART goal is to complete my BA in Entrepreneurship in 2 or 3 years
from now, and I can accomplish this goal by fully applying myself to all my class work. My
professional SMART goal is to finish my website to make my company known to the world. I
will accomplish these goals by both completing my Business Entrepreneurship degree and also
apply a set amount of time each day to work on my website. My motivation for achieving my
academic goal is mainly to be a good example to my family to always follow your dream and to
be the first of my siblings to graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree. The motivation for
achieving my professional goal is to fully achieve my life-long dream of being a business owner
or owning my own business. I believe that these goals are my biggest motivation to strive to be a
remarkably successful individual and rewarding myself with the ability to use my knowledge to
have a solid career with the opportunity to grow professionally.
In reviewing the leadership traits that are mentioned in chapter 2 of the textbook, I
believe the traits that will help me to achieve my academic and professional SMART goals are
determination and intelligence. These two leadership traits can help me accomplish my academic
and professional goals by allowing me to stay focused and knowledgeable. By being determined,
I must stay disciplined and dedicated to my schoolwork and focused on the goals that I have
must be accomplished. With me wanting to be my own business owner and working on the
website, the determination means to assert myself and putting the time and effort that is needed
to finish the website by the set time that I have set for myself.
