Trapezius - Extrinsic muscle of the back. Innervation: Motor innervation by CN 11. C3-C4 nerves are also involved in sensory innervation, such as proprioception (sense of location of ones body part) and pain. Action: elevation, retraction and rotation of scapula (shoulder blade). Also supports the shoulder. Helps in adduction and slight elevation of arm. If theres an injury here one wouldn't be able to shrug.
