Question 2
2.1) A resource in which body percussions could be used to create music is through clapping,
stamping and patting. The clapping is done two times followed by a patting of the thighs once and
stamping twice. This is done in repetition to keep the rhythm going. The movements are not done
simultaneously as the foundation learners have not well adjusted to the concept of body
coordination.
2.2) The beat in definition as according to the studyguide is the pulse of the music and in our
instance it is the sound of the clapping or stamping. The rhythm is the combined effect of the
clapping, stamping and patting.
Question 3
3.1 The story is, "I found a frog"
The theme of the story is to exercise patience as the boy only realized that he kept tadpoles
which grew into frogs instead of fish that he wanted.
Inorder to use dance and music to show the theme, slow paced music is used to show the
delaying time as he keeps checking the vase with the tadpoles. The dance pattern is that
similar to ballerina moves in which all the students come together to form a circle whenever
they check on the vase. Upon their amazement of the frog they hastily move away.
3.2 Observation of the social skills will be evident in how they coordinate themselves. How
they accommodate one another when they have to form a circle and move back into their
positions. Another way is to check how they correct one another if ever one makes a
mistake.
