I chose to work on my overall health in order to stabilize my blood pressure, cholesterol and improve my mood. Since I ruptured my L4/5 disc last year, I have been extremely inactive unless I am working. Due to my inactivity I have become less motivated to exercise and have become very depressed. Due to me being excessively overweight I am on the road to developing metabolic syndrome. As a result, I chose to start performing cardio-exercise in order to decrease depression, stabilize my blood pressure and improve my cholesterol.
I believed I ended week four in the Action stage since I am making behavior modifications in order to continue to successfully progress with my health plan. I have had to make modifications to exercises in order to be successful and change my problem behavior of being sedentary. Some examples would be using the recumbent bike and row machine to prevent over flexion of my foot due to my plantar-plate tear and also using the elliptical machine as a low impact means of exercise. I did not always exercise the amount of time or as many days as I intended, however, I did begin to do the work, which is 100 times more that what I was doing previously. 1This study source was downloaded by 100000812546443 from CourseHero.com on 09-12-2022 06:21:09 GMT -05:00
