This project aims to explore the meaning of life and life satisfaction of retired individuals
between the ages of 60 and 90 years old. In this project, I will make use of the
grounded theory approach to report as many findings as possible, old and/or new
themes, from the concrete realities of the retired individuals’ stories. My main goal is to
be open to original and fresh information that will be gained from the participants’ stories
in order to formulate helpful research. I have written down each participant’s story, as
well as asked them to correct their own story, in order to collect as much correct and
accurate data as possible. Each participant has signed their corrected version of the
interview as well as agreed and confirmed to all information that has been disclosed in
this research study.
I am aware that certain factors can influence the quality of life for retired individuals,
such as specific age when they have retired, if they were ready or prepared to retire, if
they had a choice in retiring and what they connect to the meaning of retired life. In this
