Storytelling
Storytelling through the years has evolved through many different generations and we use
different mediums to tell different stories, such as films, television, books, video games and
so much more.

The history of storytelling dates back many centuries ago, its origins is unknown as no one
knows when the first story was actually told. At First, stories were used to reassure people
against their worst fears and doubts, a family or clan of people would always have a specific
person to tell awe-inspiring stories, they would be known as the storytellers, they would
need to have great memories and imagination to express their creativeness.
Within these stories, they will need to use certain techniques and features to tell the
different tales that these story makers will require including:

 Characters-The main individuals that the audience could relate to.
 Themes-The messages that the audience will be able to pick up on by the end of the
story.
 Structure-How the story will be set within its own timeline.
 Audience-What type of audience will like the story that will be shown.
During the origins of storytelling, people began to become curious and engrossed to these
stories and people listened for hours to the heroes conquering the villains, saving the
royalty and the world.
Furthermore, the stories were shared all over the
land from one storyteller to another in order to
help inspire those who may be less creative and
imaginative.
As time evolved, stories would go with the people
that create them as they can tell their stories from
group of people, to another, and another. One of
the oldest surviving tale was known as “Epic of
Gilgamesh” which is relating to the actions of a
famous Sumerian ruler. The original location for
the story can be found in Egypt and was dated
