The idea that European countries went to Africa in the 1800s because they were upset about
slavery is puzzling. It makes us think about how different reasons like caring for people, making
money, and wanting power all mixed together. My essay will look closely at why European
countries wanted to take over parts of Africa in the 1800s. We'll see how wanting money, thinking
about their strategy, and having certain beliefs all played a part. Even though people were angry
about slavery, there were other reasons that were just as important.
