ASSIGNMENT 02 CASE STUDY On the 23rd of March 2021, Ms. Menzi, a
highly qualified individual with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the
University of Johannesburg (obtained in 2015) and a Master’s Degree in
Chemical Engineering from Stellenbosch University (obtained in 2017),
experienced a life-altering accident. At the time of the incident, she was 30
years old and pursuing her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of
the Free State. Her studies involved laboratory experiments demanding a high
degree of fine motor precision, along with various other physical and mental
demands. As a result of the accident, Ms. Menzi was declared partially
quadriplegic, with mild head injuries by the medical experts on record.
However, her cognitive functioning remains intact, as assessed by medical
experts including a Neurosurgeon, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Occupational
Therapist, Clinical and Neuro Psychologist, and Psychiatrist. Ms. Menzi
reported that prior to the accident, she supplemented her studies by earning
R2,000 per month as a Laboratory Assistant, assisting undergraduate
students with experiments during the 2019 and 2020 academic years. The
projected timeline for the completion of her Ph.D. studies was estimated to be
around three years; from 2019 to the end of 2021. However, due to the
limitations imposed by the accident-related sequelae, she has been unable to
resume her studies, thus putting her dream of completing her Ph.D. on hold
indefinitely. As the Senior Supervising Psychologist, you're tasked with
organizing a team to address Ms. Menzi's case. However, you discover that
Ms. Dlamini is the niece of Ms. Menzi, and one of your trusted interns, Mr.
Singh, is in an intimate relationship with Ms. Dlamini. This revelation raises
