Diversity in Psychology

The topic was to look at the "constructions of sexuality in South Africa often stem from biological and essentialist understandings of sex and gender and to write a reflection in which we explain and critically engage with the concept of ‘heteronormativity’, and how heteronormativity constraints not only the experiences and identities of people with non-normative sexual and/or gender identities but also cisgender and heterosexual South African people.
