Firstly, Prospero portrays himself as a prevailing and pardoning character. He decides to
forgive his foes rather than vindicating a grudge. This is evident by the lines: “As you from
crimes would pardoned be, Let your indulgence set me free”, indicating he wants to depart
the island and forgive all wrongs as well as ask for his wrongs to be forgiven. He has also lost
his supernatural abilities: “How my charms are o’erthrown, / And what strength I have’s
mine own,” this indicates he means no harm and has not got…
