INSTRUCTIONS:
This alternative assessment consists of nine (9) pages.
1. Ensure that you answer all the questions, using appropriate headings and subheadings to structure
your assessment.
2. Answer all the questions in the assessment.
3. Your assessment should preferably be typed in MS Word and saved as a PDF file, once
completed. If you are unable to type your assessment, please make sure that you write neatly and
that the scanned document is legible.
4. Password-protected files or files will not be marked.
5. Your assessment portfolio must be submitted through the correct channel (i.e. myUnisa); no
emailed portfolios will be accepted.
6. The structure of your assessment must include the following aspects:
a. a title page, containing a title for your assessment, your name and surname, student
number and module code
b. a table of contents
c. an introduction (a brief outline of what will be discussed in the assessment)
d. the main body of your assessment, containing discussions or arguments supported by
existing literature and practical application
e. a conclusion
f. a reference list containing all the sources that you have used for the assessment
7. Sign the originality/authenticity declaration and submit it with your completed assessment.
8. The length of the assessment is restricted to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 typed
pages.
9. This assessment requires you to show insight into the topics in the module and to demonstrate
that you have mastered the applicable learning outcomes. DO NOT simply rewrite the text of your
prescribed textbook or study guide. You will NOT receive any marks for discussing theory only;
you are expected to apply the theory practically. Be creative and explain how you would implement
certain concepts by means of the business described in the following scenario.
