-ICAO = develops standards and recommended practices
-EASA = European Aviation Safety Agency -> used ICAO rules to form baseline
-National aviation authorities = ensure that operators apply those rules and regulations
-Airline = publishes operations manual to be followed by operation personnel
-AOC = Aircraft Operator’s Certificate
-Commander = responsible that these procedures are subsequently carried out

ICAO Annex 6 Definitions
-Alternate = Destination, En-route and Take-off alternate
-ETOPS en-route alternate = diversion during extended range twin-engine operation
-Flight safety documents system = operations and operator’s maintenance control manual
-Flight time = aircrafts first movement for purpose of taking off until it finally comes to rest
-Maintenance release = document with certification confirming that work has completed
Compliance with Laws, Regulations and Procedures
-Flight crew = must demonstrate ability to speak and understand language used
-Submit emergency report = within 10 days to state of occurrence
-Operational control responsibility = PIC, flight operations officer or flight dispatcher
