Population Ecology
● Species : a group of organisms similar characteristics capable of
interbreeding and producing fertile offspring
● Population : a group of organisms of one species that interbreed and live
in the same place at the same time.
● Community : a group of interacting organisms that share a common
habitat.
● Ecosystem : A system that includes all living organisms (biotic factors) in
an area as well as its physical environment (abiotic factors) functioning
together.
● Bio-capacity : the amount of productive land and water available to
produce the resources we use and to absorb the waste we produce
● Competition : When individuals strive for the same resources in short
supply
● Ecological niche : all the conditions necessary for an organism to survive
and reproduce
