● MF Gym plc had 300 employees within its gyms.
● Employees liked Laid back management style.
● There was availability of flexible work opportunities.
● The manager was Democratic
● The manager trusted their employees
● There were training opportunities.
Multifit Gym plc was a successful gym brand with 20 gyms which were set up in the
late-1990s. Over the past 5 years it has developed a reputation for outstanding
customer service and innovative online classes. This suggests that the Covid was an
opportunity for Multifit Gym plc to make its brand image through online classes. The
Multifit Gym is a public liability company which was beneficial for Multifit gym plc to
raise additional finance through stock exchange and increased negotiation
opportunities with suppliers in terms of prices because larger businesses such as
(Local Gym plc) can achieve economies of scale. However being a public liability
company is not beneficial for Multifit Gym plc as there are more complex accounting
and reporting requirements. There is a greater risk of a hostile takeover by a rival or
larger company as MF Gym plc cannot control who buys its shares. Shareholders
