Identify, understand and make use of 10 new nouns relating to “Documents and Texts” Practiced to identify the targeted vocabulary whilst making use of their pre-existing
Target vocabulary: vocabulary, they will have had conversations in groups, about the relevant “documents and
notebook, magazine, newspaper, letter, diary, passport, postcard, bill, menu, textbook. texts” that they are familiar with or have made use of.

Anticipated difficulties: Suggested solutions:

1. The students might have difficulties with the meaning of certain words because of 1. Pay close attention during lessons, if there is any difficulty with the pronunciation of
their L1. The students may struggle with the pronunciation of words containing the the words then I use chorus repetition to ensure that students pay attention to the
letter “r”. stress sounds and the shape of the mouth whilst speaking.

2. Due to the students varying in age students may have a harder time feeling 2. Grouping the students to ensure that they feel included in a group and each student
comfortable around each other. gets a chance to interact making them feel comfortable. Warmer and cooler exercises
can also be used to get the students to be interactive with one another.
3. Students choosing to interact in their native language (L1) with one another.
3. Make the students to ask for permission before speaking L1. Encourage the students
4. Adults may become frustrated by failing to understand or pronouncing some words. to use English as much as possible throughout the lesson. During activities assist they
any students facing difficulties.

4. Set realistic goals for the students, help them track their progress, and provide
detailed and encouraging feedback.
