Visual Art:
1. Drawing and Painting:
In this topic, Grade 4 students will learn the fundamentals of drawing
and painting. They will explore various drawing techniques such as
shading, cross-hatching, and stippling. Students will learn how to use
different materials, including pencils, charcoal, and watercolours.
They will experiment with colour mixing and explore different
painting styles and techniques. This topic aims to develop students'
observation skills, creative thinking, and hand-eye coordination
through the practice of drawing and painting.
2. Printmaking:
In the printmaking topic, Grade 4 students will study the process of
printmaking. They will learn about various printmaking techniques
such as relief printing and monoprinting. Students will explore
different materials and tools used in printmaking, such as linoleum
blocks, ink, rollers, and brayers. They will create their own designs
and learn how to transfer their designs onto their chosen print
medium. This topic encourages students to experiment with
patterns, textures, and colours, fostering their creativity and
