, Question 1 1.1 Bandura's social learning theory mentions that from the initial
stage, a child learns by observing the behaviour of the people around him/her
and everybody is making concerted efforts to adopt the same behaviour. In
school, the learner learns from his/her peer group – thus, social learning.
Learning according to Bandura must be reciprocal. There are different devices
that learners use in schools. Mention two devices that are most suitable to
your learners' unique needs in an inclusive classroom and explain how they
use them to acquire learning. (10) 1.2 Humans are keen to share their
thoughts with others. They are keen to send and receive messages. They do
so by talking and writing. This is called communication. In this technological
era, critically explain how the internet can be used as a source of learning for
post-secondary students. (10) 1.3 Theoretical assumptions play a crucial role
for people because they make them understand things in a systematic way.
Furthermore, they help people to solve mysteries theoretically. (i) List two
proponents of each of the following theories: • Libertarianism or free press •
Social responsibility, and • Soviet media communist (6) (ii) State two main
views for each of the theories mentioned above. (6) (iii) Identify two
advantages of each of these theories. (6) (iv) Mention two disadvantages of
each of these theories. (6) (v) Of the three theories stated above, which one
appeals to you the most and why? (1) [45]
1.1 In an inclusive classroom setting, where learners have unique needs, two devices
that can be suitable are:
a) Assistive Technology Devices: These devices include tools such as text-to-speech
software, screen readers, speech recognition software, and alternative input devices
like adaptive keyboards or switches. Learners with visual impairments, hearing
impairments, or physical disabilities can use these devices to access information,
communicate, and participate in learning activities.
b) Mobile Devices: Tablets or smartphones equipped with educational apps, accessibility
features, and internet connectivity can provide learners with various learning
opportunities. They can access educational resources, interactive learning materials,
and communication platforms to engage with their peers and teachers. Mobile devices
also offer flexibility in terms of personalized learning experiences and adapting to
individual needs.
These devices enable learners to acquire learning by providing them with the means to
access information, participate in collaborative activities, and communicate with others.
Learners can observe and learn from their peers' behavior using these devices,
fostering social learning. Additionally, these devices can support reciprocal learning, as
learners can share their knowledge and experiences with others, creating a
collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
