1.1) Social institutional structures contribute to our society. These formalised units, or
aspects, of society, may be in the form of organisations (e.g. the army, the police
service, educational facilities and prisons), or they may be more informal (e.g. family
and marriage). Social institutions typically fall into five main categories: family,
economy, religion, education and politics (Farooq, 2012; and Sociology Guide, n.d.)..
Discuss each of the five main categories of social institutions (family, economy,
religion, education and politics) using your own words and provide relevant examples
for each. (20 Marks)
Family:
The own family is a fundamental social organization that plays a crucial role in society.
It is a unit including those who are related by way of blood, marriage, or adoption. The
own family is answerable for the socialization of its participants, providing love, care,
and aid. It also helps within the reproduction of society by using generating new
individuals. The circle of relatives has undergone large modifications through the
years, from conventional nuclear families to single-discern families, blended families,
and same-intercourse households. For example, a nuclear circle of relatives may
include a married couple and their children living together.
Economy:
The financial system is some other critical social institution that encompasses the
production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. It involves economic
structures consisting of capitalism, socialism, and communism. The financial system
gives employment possibilities, income, and resources to individuals and society as a
whole. It affects the usual of living, social mobility, and economic inequality. For
example, the inventory market, multinational businesses, and small agencies are all a
part of the economic institution.
Religion:
Religion is a social institution that revolves around ideals, practices, and rituals which
might be considered sacred or supernatural. It affords a framework for understanding
the meaning and motive of life and acts as a source of social brotherly love and
identification for its followers. Religion can befound in various bureaucracy, inclusive
