A. PROFESSIONAL ACUMEN (4 MARKS
In order for the candidate to successfully apply for the position of Head: Internal
Audit, they must possess the necessary qualifications, experience, and skills outlined
in the job advertisement. The candidate must also demonstrate strong
communication skills, professionalism, and critical thinking throughout their
application. This will be assessed through the candidate's ability to provide clear and
concise full sentences with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as
their logical understanding of the module content, evident in their explanations and
motivations that convey convincing and coherent arguments.
The candidate is required to have a BCom Accounting or BCom Internal Audit
qualification, as well as an Honours degree in Business, Commerce, or Technology.
Additionally, they must be a qualified CA(SA) or CIA. The candidate should have a
minimum of 10-12 years of experience in an internal audit environment, with at least
five years in a senior management position. They should also have knowledge and
experience with the COSO framework, data analytics, governance, risk
management, and compliance, continuous auditing, and project management.
Furthermore, the candidate must possess strong communication skills, as effective
communication is listed as a key skill and competency in the job advertisement. They
must also demonstrate the ability to lead change in themselves, others, and the
company, as well as develop and grow others in their team. This requires a high level
of professionalism, critical thinking, and leadership capabilities.
