✓ Revise what you have learnt about the nature of science in learning unit 1
and the process skills that develop learners’ understanding of the nature of
science in learning unit 2.
✓ Look at specifically learning unit 3, Planning for science teaching
andassessment.
✓ Understand section B (learning units 4 to 6) regarding technology education.

1.1 Scientific knowledge and concepts are classified or grouped into content
areas, also called knowledge strands.
1.1.1 Choose which of the FOUR (4) science content strands describe the
content of your theme plan. (1)
1.1.2 Motivate your choice.
1.1.1 The four science content strands are: Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth
and Space Sciences, and Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science.
1.1.2 The content of my theme plan falls under the Life Sciences content strand.
This is because my theme plan focuses on biological concepts such as
, ecosystems, biodiversity, and the interdependence of living organisms. The
activities and lessons in my theme plan will revolve around understanding the
biology of our natural world and the relationships between living organisms and
their environments.

weave through the theme plan.
1.2.2 Give reasons for your choice.
This big idea is relevant because it encompasses the concepts of how societies
are organized and governed, the distribution of power and authority, and the
impact of governance on different social groups. These themes can be woven
through the unit to provide a comprehensive understanding of how power
dynamics and societal structures shape human behavior and interactions.
