, There’s no denying that the speed of doing business has steadily increased.
Technology has continually pushed business forward, but with the COVID-19
pandemic, the technology landscape changed dramatically. Digital
transformation that was slated for later in the year ended up being pushed
to the forefront as organizations clamored to readjust to drastic and ongoing
changes in how business was accomplished. Since then, the speed of expected
digital transformation has not slowed.
Likewise, customer behavior continues to change, and change faster than the
technology of most of today’s organizations can keep up with. Companies are
also learning that customers will not always wait for the business to catch up and
will instead go elsewhere for their needs. New technologies certainly address the
common pain points of enhancing delivery, reducing costs, managing workforce
shortages, and adapting to evolving delivery patterns, but the deployment of
such technologies adds new technical hurdles.
To remain competitive, businesses need to not only continually pursue digital
transformation, but maintain agility and acceleration within the transformation.
This is achieved by leveraging new systems that will plug and play into existing
environments.
