Read rule 1.0A1, 1.0A2, 2.0B1, 1.0H and 2.0B2 in AACR2R as well
as paragraph 9.3 in your Study Guide
4.1.2 You must also know which types of information (data elements)
are presented on the chief source of information and how this
information is used to compile a bibliographic record. The descriptive
data elements (bibliographic information) are divided into eight
areas/fields and ALWAYS appear in the same order.
Read paragraph 9.4 in the Study Guide as well as rule 1.0B1 and
1.0D2 in AACR2R
4.1.3 The data elements in the eight areas/fields are also ALWAYS
presented in a specific order.
Study rule 1.0D2 and compare it with rule 1.0B1. Note the
punctuation.
4.1.4 Study the following eight title pages while keeping AACR2R
open at rule
1.0D2:
(a) Identify the data elements; and
(b) List the data elements in the prescribed order.
