• To analyse the value of teaching media in order to make an informed decision which to
choose and apply in the classroom
• To explain the benefits of a budget and design a budget for Hospitality Studies education to
improve financial management

1.1 Design ONE power point presentation for your class and choose ONE of the
following topics from the curriculum, either topic A or B.
A: Grade 11, term 2, week 3
B: Grade 11, term 2, week 7
• You must use an original design (template) that you have downloaded from the internet to
design your Power Point Presentation. State the website address that you have used to
download the design (2 marks).
Consult your study guide and design the power point presentation according to the given
recommendations. Combine the presentation with your assignment and submit one document.
Alternatively, you may submit the presentation separately on the assignment portal as 2
documents will be accepted for this assignment (9 marks).
1.2 Search for an application on an Ipad or tablet that may assist the teacher in the
class. Write the name of the application (1 mark), state whether the application is for an
Ipad or tablet (1 mark) and paste the application icon in your answer (1 mark). Describe
how this application will assist the teacher in the classroom (3 marks).

2.1 The internet contains a vast amount of teaching media, however, the information is not
always correct and not applicable to the content of the Curriculum and Assessment
Policy Statement document.
Search the internet and locate ONE (1) website with visual teaching media addressing any
grade 10 curriculum topic. The content of the visual media should address the content
of CAPS to enable you to obtain marks for your answers. Should the medium NOT include
the content as stipulated in the CAPS document, marks cannot be allocated for your answer.
