You do not need show the entire presentation, but show us some of the language you would use to elicit
the target language from the context you have chosen, elicit the form and concept check.
Show the actual words you would use for:

i) Eliciting the target language from the context
Teacher: Class look at the pictures on the board. I want you to try and make a sentence describing the
pictures.
Teacher: Alright class, time is up. Let us have a look at your answers. Who would like to try first and
give me your answer?
Student: I see a student writing in a book and then playing.
Teacher: Good start, can anyone put this together as a sentence.
Student: I think I might have an idea. I would like to try. If I finish my homework early I will play
with my friends.
Teacher: Well done, that was a very good answer. I have now written the sentence on the board
describing the photos; read the sentence again, do you think there is any punctuation mark missing in
this sentence?
Student: Is it maybe a comma?
Teacher: Yes indeed, we will use a comma to link these two sentences together. If we look at this
sentence, we can see there is two clauses, who can tell me what they are?
Student: There is an “IF” clause and a RESULT clause
Teacher: Very good, now who can tell me which is which?
Student: Is the “If I finish my homework early” an “IF” clause?
Teacher: Yes, that is correct. That mean that “I will play with my friends” is the RESULT. Is everyone
clear on this?
Students: Yes teacher, we understand. We will be able to do more sentences on our own now by
looking at photos.
Teacher: Great work class! Now, look at the examples I have written on
the board together with the pictures, and try and complete the sentences
for me in your workbook and we will go through them together in one
minute.
