1.1 (a) Assessment for learning; has a purpose of continuously collecting information in
learners achievement that can be used to improve their learning. Informal
assessment is daily monitoring of learners progress.
(B) Assessment of learning; all assessment tasks that make up a formal program of
assessment for the year are regarded as formal assessment/assessment of
learning. Formal assessment tasks are marked and formally recorded by the teacher
for progression and certification purposes.
(C) Assessment as learning; Is the use of ongoing self assessment by students in
order to monitor their own learning, which is characterized by students reflecting on
their own learning and making adjustments so that they achieve deeper
understanding.
(d) Assessment in learning; Given the importance of assessment for student
learning, it is important to consider how to best measure the learning that you want
your students to achieve. Assessment should integrate grading, learning, and
motivation for your students. Well-designed assessment methods provide valuable
information about student learning. They tell us what students learned, how well they
learned it, and where they struggled. Good assessments allow you to answer the
question,
1.2 (a) Assessment vs Evaluation; assessment goes beyond evaluation to include
gathering info about student performance as they work and when they finish.
Evaluation usually occurs when student has finished a task. Involves examining info
about many component of the thing being evaluated and making judgments about its
worth or effectiveness
(b) Self assessment vs Teacher assessment; Self-assessment implies that learners
make judgments about their own work. Self-assessment is formative in nature and
helps learners to gain more insight into their activities, shortcoming and strong
