Directions : Use the form below to formulate a PICOT question. This includes filling in the table with information about your nursing concern and your PICOT elements. Step 1 : Identify the nursing practice issue or problem. What have you noticed in work environment that is not achieving the desired patient or learning outcomes? What can you do about that issue? What can you change with the support of evidence in the literature? Step 2 : Select the key PICOT terms for searching the evidence. Clearly define your PICOT question. List each element P (problem, population, or problem), I (intervention), C (Comparison with other treatment/current practice), and O (Desired outcome), T (Time Frame). Step 3 : What search terms could you use in order to make sure that your search is wide enough to obtain required information but narrow enough to keep it focused? What is the scope of the issue? What evidence is there for the need for change? (Include a minimum of 2 scholarly sources): Currently, in America, the human papillomavirus (HPV) remains to be one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. For more than ten years, the availability of a preempted strike vaccine to prevent HPV. However, in Texas, only 20 -28% of individuals accepted the vaccination; this is significantly lower than the national average (Gazibara , Jia & Lubetkin, 2017). As an MSN -Family Nurse Practitioner, the ability to educate clients and their family increases their preception of receiving quality care. As medicine evolves so does the ability to increase the protection for our future generation s and prevent suffering from infectious diseases. Texas is one of 5 states in the U.S., that in addition to being able to boost of high incidence of HPV, with a higher than average rate of cervical cancer screenings and cervical cancer (Gazibara, Jia & Lub etkin, 2017). To combat the misconceptions of the HPV vaccine, the implementation of an education program of the benefits of the vaccine by decreasing the incidence of HPV, including the various types of cancer associated with HPV.
