RELIGION - ANS-relates to spiritual beliefs needs and practices. may promote beliefs and
practices related to daily living habits, behaviors relationships with others, diet, healing, days of
worship, birth and birth control, medicines and also death.
CULTURE AND RELIGION AND HOW IT IMPACTS THE CLIENT - ANS-impacts the client by
how healthcare can be performed and given to someone or may give the health service.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs - ANS-It is described as a persons basic needs must be met for a
person to survive and function. There are five levels and the lower level must be met before the
higher need levels are achieved those levels are as follows physical needs, the need for safety,
the need for love and belonging, the need for self-esteem, and the need for self-actualization or
fulfillment.
Assault - ANS-initially attempting to or threatening to touch a person's body without consent,
causing the person to fear bodily harm
Battery - ANS-the touching of a persons body without the person's consent
Slander - ANS-the making of false verbal statements that hurt the reputation of a person
Negligence - ANS-failure to act in the careful and confident manner resulting in harm to a
person or damage to property
False imprisonment - ANS-an unlawful restraint or restrictions of a person's freedom of
movement
Harassment - ANS-troubling tormenting offending or worrying a person through one's behavior
or comments
Autonomy - ANS-also called self determination means having the freedom and choice to make
decisions that affect one's life
Dependence - ANS-the state of relying on others for support, being unable to manage without
help
Interdependence - ANS-the state of relying on one another
Independence - ANS-The state of not relying on others for control or authority
