1. Maryland et al. (2014) do not provide the degrees of freedom (df) in their study. Use the
degrees of freedom formulas provided at the beginning of this exercise to calculate the
group df and the error df. In order to calculate the degrees of freedom (df) in the
Mayland et al. study, you must subtract k (the number of groups in the study) by N (the
total number of participants in the study). In this case, you would subtract 255-3, which
equals a df of 252. Calculating the error df requires using the formula k-1, so 3-1 equals
an error df of 2.
2. What is the F value and p value for spiritual need-patient? What do these results mean?
