House of Delegates to declare independence and launch war on Britain. Henry believed that
seceding from Britain was the proper thing to do. “Ideological reasoning is the process of using
logic to arrive at a conclusion, thinking that starts with abstractions or generalizations to
describe one's essential views, notions, or ideas, or principles, and then reasoning from the top
down to a specific application” (Facione, pg. 263).Ideological reasoning enables a person to
comprehend their role in the world. It provides a person who has the conviction to stand up for
something. For freedom of speech, I would have to put my life on the line.
As individuals, we have the right to express our emotions. Not everyone will agree with
everything a person stands for, but we wouldn't have a free country if we didn't have the
opportunity to express or speak what we believe in. We wouldn't be a global melting pot. If we
work together, we can . We begin to sense one another, and then we begin to instruct others
what to do. I also believe that war is a bad thing. People would try to seize control of the
situation if we couldn't protect ourselves. “War is bad, war is horrible,” Higgs wrote, “but war is
sometimes essential and the only way to defeat evil.” In this universe, there were some bad
people. WWII put an end to one of history's most wicked figures, Adolf Hitler. While war is
terrible, it is necessary at times to safeguard our rights.
