This study looked at a 47 year old man who reported neck pain. Over the previous twelve years he had experienced an increase in neck pain. The patient had for over 25 years been a skydiving instructor. Each year he made more than 300-400 jumps. During a typical jump, a skydiver is subjected to forces around 3-5 times the force of gravity. However, this patient had been diving with a helmet camera that added a 1.5kg to his head.

In this exercise I am opening and closing a sliding glass door; something that I see as an activity of daily life. A few years ago, while trying to ride a bicycle around the world, I was involved in a bicycle vs bus accident. Amongst other things, both shoulders required surgery. Prior to surgery, this was an extremely difficult task to accomplish with my right arm.

In some cases, it is associated with shoulder impingements and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. In addition, it can be seen as rounded shoulders and forward head while a person is upright and relaxed
