, Abstract

De hechtingsrelatie tussen het jonge kind en zijn ouders is een belangrijke relatie voor de

ontwikkeling van het kind. Het temperament van het kind kan invloed hebben op deze relatie,

wat mogelijk wordt versterkt door de self-efficacy van de ouder. Om een veilige

hechtingsrelatie te bevorderen is het belangrijk ouders die dit nodig hebben te ondersteunen

bij het aangaan van de hechtingsrelatie. Om ouders zo goed mogelijk hierbij te kunnen

ondersteunen is het van belang om te onderzoeken of de self-efficacy van de ouder invloed

heeft op de relatie tussen het temperament van het kind en de hechtingsrelatie tussen ouder

en kind. De verwachting is dat de self-efficacy een negatieve invloed heeft op het verband

tussen temperament en hechting. Dat wil zeggen dat een hogere mate van self-efficacy in

verband zou staan met een verminderde invloed van het temperament op de hechting. Een

steekproef van N = 202 moeders en hun eerstgeboren kind is getrokken uit een longitudinaal

onderzoek naar ouderschap, opvoeding en ontwikkeling. Tijdens het onderzoek zijn

vragenlijsten afgenomen om het temperament van het kind en de self-efficacy van de

moeder te meten. Daarnaast heeft een onderzoek naar hechting plaatsgevonden in een

speciale onderzoeksruimte. De resultaten zijn geanalyseerd aan de hand van een

meervoudige logistische regressieanalyse in het programma SPSS. Uit de analyse is

gebleken dat het temperament positief correleert met de ambivalente

gehechtheidsclassificatie en negatief correleert met de vermijdende

gehechtheidsclassificatie. Daarnaast is gebleken dat een hogere mate van self-efficacy een

negatief effect heeft op de relatie tussen temperament en hechting. Dat wil zeggen dat het

temperament van het kind minder invloed heeft op de hechting wanneer de ouder een

hogere mate van self-efficacy heeft. Deze bevindingen benadrukken het belang van vroege

interventies bij moeders met een lage mate van self-efficacy. Een mogelijk vervolgonderzoek

zou zich kunnen richten op vaders en hun kinderen om de doelgroep te verbreden en beide

ouders effectief te kunnen ondersteunen.

During the current study, questionnaires were taken to measure child temperament and

parental self-efficacy. In addition, attachment was measured during a research in an

examination room. The results were analyzed using a multiple logistic regression analysis in

SPSS. The analysis found that child temperament correlates positively with the resistant

attachment classification and negatively with the avoidant attachment classification. In

addition, it has been shown that a higher degree of parental self-efficacy has a negative

effect on the correlations between child temperament and attachment. This indicates that

child-temperament has less influence on the parent-child attachment when parents have a

higher level of self-efficacy. These findings highlight the importance of early interventions in

mothers with low levels of self-efficacy. A possible follow-up study could focus on fathers and

their children in order to broaden the target group and effectively support both parents.
