, Introduction


The scope of this assignment is going to increase the understanding of the business
environment in regards of the chosen organisation, Royal Bank of Scotland. It is
important to be aware of the organisational structure as well as the way it is
governed.

In addition to this, it is important to understand the PESTLE Analysis, in order to
ensure an increased understanding of the external environmental aspects that could
impact the business, such as Political, economic, social, technological, legal and
environmental aspects, therefore it is important to understand ways in which the
business, Royal Bank of Scotland can be affected by the social external aspects.
Therefore, the second part of the assignment is aiming to increase the
understanding on how the PESTLE Analysis is going to impact the business.

In the third task of the business, an application of the PESTLE analysis in regards
of the external environment within Royal Bank of Scotland.

Business History


Royal Bank of Scotland has a long-standing association with the Scottish Rugby
Union which permits the chance to perceive its clients with admittance to tickets and
special encounters. In addition to this, it has opened in 1783 in Glasgow starting with
one branch and it is the first bank to allow mortgage loans for houses in 1972. This
has allowed the bank to gather a lot of customers, becoming one of the most
successful banks in the United Kingdom. In addition to this, the innovative business
has been the first one on the world to be able to create internet banking, which has
innovated the world’s banking system, making it more accessible and convenient for
every person that has access to technology as per Royal Bank of Scotland (2021).
