1) Purpose: what is the intention?
2)Technique:How has it been filmed?
3)Effect: What is the audience response?

2. COMPOSITION/ MISE-EN-SCENE
1. Foreground: What is in foreground+why?
2. Background: What is background of still+why?
3. Shot: What shot has been used+what effect on audience?
4. Lines: which lines are dominant (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) and why?
5. Framing: How are characters withing still framed+what is effect on framing? What is focal point?
6. Sound and light: What type of sound+lighting accompany shot/still?Why

3. BASIC SHOTS
Extreme-close up shot capture emotions e.g. surprise, ama`ement, shock
-focus on some feature of the subject(eyes) hand gesture, whisper in ear, eyes of Satine

Close-up shot Emphasizes emotions or reactions to various
-head+shoulders shot. Subject occupies almost circumstances, background not focus
whole frame+background unimportant

Medium shot observe facial expressions+bd language+reveal details
-subject cut off at waist height by lower edge of about characters surroundings +env

Long shot It gives an overall picture, placing the characters in their

High-angled shots Detract from c: less sig, unimportant /vulnerable at part mom.

Eyelevel shot:natural filming and viewing Effect is usually neutral, = footing, no power dynamic

Low angles shots: low perspective upwards character appear more powerful+important

Worm's eye view: directly below similar to low angles shots, more extreme effect
