Classical Test Theory - ANSWERSObserved score (X) = True score (T) + Random Error (E)



True score can never really be known since error is always present



Error can be random

- unpredictable

- lowers reliability of test, but cancels itself out after

repeated (infinite) trials (can also be reduced with

large sample sizes/longer tests)

Error can also be systematic

- source of error always decreases or increases true

score by a set amount
