The Clifton Strengths assessment is a tool to identify and understand my strengths as a
leader. The results from my assessment were relator, analytical, strategic, learner and
responsibility. Getting a better understanding of each of these strengths and how they pertain to
how I operate throughout my career and personal ventures will allow me to grow as a leader and
improve upon my weaknesses and be successful.
The first theme from my results was relator. Relator describes how someone relates and
communicates with others. This strength seems to work well together with my analytical and
learner themes, as the description outlines the ability to untangle complicated situations and
explains my drive to continuously stay busy and thoughtful about my responsibilities. This
strength also defines a strong characteristic and ability to identify areas where I fall short.
Because of my drive and yearning to succeed, I choose to focus on these weak areas and to
improve upon them continuously.
The second theme identify was analytical. Persons with this strength are able to
determine solutions to problems easier than others due to their natural ability to thoroughly
analyze situations and determine the best path forward. During my career as an industry
accountant, one of my main responsibilities is to unwind complex situations. I have an innate
ability to view and understand the issue from all sides and come up with creative approaches to
problem solving. I am intuitively familiar with software and having natural talent to understand
what is happening behind the scenes. Although this strength is mostly positive, it does affect the
way I manage others who are not like minded. I tend to become frustrated when my team does
not take an activity to completion and have been told that I am highly analytical and reasonable
