, It infrastructure
the goal of designing methods is to create an adequate, appropriate IT infrastructure design in a
structured way.
IT infrastructure life-cycle model
Alternatives for system engineering
Waterfall
Agile
Scrum
Architect Designer
Defines a formal model to represent the whole Solves a problem in the problem space
problem space
Populates the model to define the problem Uses the architecture to create a design
space architecture
Defines logical constraints- design standards, Works with constraints
rules etc
Is whole system forever oriented Is problem and solution-oriented
Design
Designing is the process of taking decisions /making choices, from global scope to detail scope, to
define the elements of a system to be build. Design is about functionality and the quality thereof.
Functionality: parking, living, office, messaging
Qualities: nice, secure, efficient, solid, availability
Stakeholders of a design, are ultimately the (moral) sponsors of
the design and have the final responsibility.
Architecture
Architecture is a consistent set of principles and models that
gives direction to design and realization of information,
applications and technical infrastructure of an organization
Environment-wide impact
