The difference between these two is that by individualism people are responsible for
themselves and there nuclear and direct family. The children who live in this kind of society
grow up in small family’s with one or both parents and one or two siblings. In this society do
you learn to be I-oriented and it is important to learn to be independent. You need to speak
your mind because these people like it when you are honest and open. They prefer a direct,
low context communication.
By collectivism children grow up in large families, including grandparents or other family
members. You are almost never alone. By this type of society the people are We-oriented
and is being a responsible member of a family very important. You need to be independent
