Place: around the hospital
The title of this novel is 5 feet apart. I think this is the title because the narrators both have a
disease and they aren’t allowed to come closer to each other than 5 feet.
I like the book because it’s about real life. The diseases those people have are real-life
issues, where so many people go through. I also really like it because the main characters
are about my age, therefore I can see how much different someone's life can be than mine
is.
I mostly like the female main character, Stella Grant. She is waiting for a lung transplant
because she is having a disease called CF. I like her because she is so strong, she just goes
through her surgeries like it’s supernormal.
An alternative title I should give this novel is: The life of a CF patient. I will give it this title
because this is actually where the whole book is about.
Stella Grant is a girl who has this disease called Cystic Fibrosis (CF). She spends most of
her time in the hospital and has to have a lot of surgeries. The special thing about this girl is
that she has a youtube channel. With this channel she wants to give people a look into her
life. One day a new boy comes into the hospital, Will Newman, a boy who has a more severe
form of CF. If Stella would come too close to Will, she would probably get really sick and that
means that she wouldn’t get a lung transplant anymore. In the end, she fell in love with Will
and they came too close to each other, but luckily Stella didn’t get infected with Wills
bacteria.
