Transfer means to move funds from one account,

Withdraw Refers to the ac9on of taking money out of
an account.
Current account Type of bank account that is designed for
regular and frequent transac9ons.
Bill Represents a statement of charges or fees
owed for goods or services.
Deposit Involves puIng money into an account.
Issue Can refer to a point in dispute or a
challenge, but in a financial context.
OverdraL Occurs when withdrawals exceed the
available balance in an account, leading to a
nega9ve balance.

like a job or a bank account
An ATM machine The machines that give money to bank
customers (automa9c telling machines). In
the UK an ATM is called a cashpoint.
An automated payment A payment that your bank will make every
week or every month without needing your
permission to do it each 9me.

Account number It is a personal number that iden9fies your
bank account. No one else has the same
number.
Branch of a bank It is a local office or bureau of your bank.
Foreign currency Each country has its own. It is the money in
coins and notes that people use in that
country.
Debit card It is a card that allows you to withdraw cash
from your current account or pay for goods
or services electronically by taking money
out of your current account.
OverdraL It’s the amount of money that you owe to
the bank because you withdraw more from
your current account than you have in it.
Loan It is an amount of money that you borrow
from the bank for an agreed period of 9me.
Print off your balance It means to look how much money you have
in your bank account and receive a piece of
paper showing that amount. You can do this
at the bank’s ATM machines.
Make bank transfers It means to move money electronically from
one bank account into another bank
account.
Interest It is the amount of money that a bank
charges you for loan or overdraL. We also
pay this to you on any money you save at
our bank.
PIN number It’s your personal iden9fica9on number.
This allows you to use your debit card. You
must never tell anyone else this number.
