KEY DEFINITIONS/TERMS

Angel investor: Individual who uses their own wealth to fund businesses.
Bankruptcy: This occurs when a business has become insolvent and needs a legal way to
reorganize or liquidate.
Corporate entrepreneurs: Individuals working for corporations who develop new and
improved products or services and determine ways to make or implement these innovations.
Corporation: A separate legal entity from its owners and responsible for its own business
affairs.
Crowdfunding: Process that utilizes small contributions from many people (the “crowd”) to
fund a new or existing business.
Debt financing: Money that is borrowed and needs to be paid back, usually with interest.
E-commerce: The trading of goods and services on the internet.
