Ik heb een 9,2 voor dit tentamen gehaald :) Hoe ik dit voor elkaar heb gekregen =
- Eerst alles per week in dit document doorgenomen en genoteerd in sleutelwoorden
(zie wit-paarse samenvatting op papier aan het einde van dit document, voor het
begrippenlijst). → Hierdoor begreep ik de essentie per week en per concept beter.
- Vervolgens ALLE begrippen met definities in de begrippenlijst doorgenomen.
- ALLE begrippen en definities in sleutelwoorden uit de begrippenlijst genoteerd op
papier en uit mijn hoofd geleerd.
- D.m.v. active recalling mijzelf overhoord (door begrippen uit de begrippenlijst
zonder definitie op te schrijven).
- Oefentoets 3x gemaakt, tijdens het leren. 1e x na het maken van mijn samenvatting
van de colleges, 2e x na de begrippen definities samen te vatten en de 3 e als laatst,
aan het einde. Zo kon ik leren a.d.h.v. de vraagstellingen.

Voorbereiding
H1 Bestuurskundig onderzoek (Research in Public Administration)
1.1 the unique features of research in public administration
There are three features:
- Public sector
a. the public sector is more than just the government: NGO, citizens, civil
societies, companies. actively involved in policy development and
decision making.
b. Wide array of subjects, for instance: construction of infrastructure, to
local policies, assigning scientific research, privatization of postal
services.
c. As a rule: one national airport, one system for national elections, one
president or PM, one central bank
- Its applied nature
a. PA researchers focus on problems situated in everyday life & are hired
by organizations or policy makers to address a certain problem or to
give specific advice.
- Its limited body of knowledge
a. Most theories used by PA researchers originate in the parent discipline.
This lack can be explained by PA being a young discipline.
1.2 research in public administration and policy
Three types of research aims:
1. research in which public policy is the subject of study
a. policies are regarded as instruments/methods to achieve goals.
b. Policy content is less relevant.
c. Examples: laws and regulations, subsidies and contracts.
2. research that has a certain policy as its outcome
a. is meant to give an outline of what the new policy will have to
compromise.
b. Examples: trend analysis, cost-benefit analysis, evaluation research.
3. research that feeds into the policymaking process
a. to find a solution to a certain policy problem.
b. Examples: new policy instruments (laws, subsidies), management
techniques (finance, ICT, personnel), which procedure to follow
(networks, free market process)
