In this case study on fetal abnormalities, the very uncommon scenario presents itself
where a fetus is diagnosed with a rare condition or a possibility of having down syndrome. More
specifically, the rare condition is described as the inability to develop or ever grow any arms.
Unpredictable and uncontrollable events like these in a Christian household are very
controversial. The mother is expected to continue her duties as mother regardless of the life of
the child or her own. Women are always being told what is best for them when in reality, women
know what is best for themselves. Scenarios like these are constantly being overlooked in the
medical and Christian world when it comes to making the best decision for one’s own body. It is
imperative to understand the potential backlashes that can occur when women are misunderstood
and therefore misguided in the decision that they should take.
The Christian View
Throughout the beginning to end, all characters attempt to act out of love or care. The
Christian view manifests itself throughout the case through the Aunt. The Christian view of the
nature of human persons is to follow what Jesus would do right all the time. Referring to doing
what is right, or what is for can be potentially the golden rule of love and caring for all each
other like brother and sister. The theory that fits the Christian view of listening to Gods word is
the Divine Command Theory. Ultimately, the Christian view is always looking at one’s neighbor
with love and act in the same way Jesus would without hate or resentment towards others. This
uniquely overlaps the intrinsic human value of working and being someone that others included
oneself could trust. Relative to one’s own dignity, it is the overall belief that one is always
attempting to make the best choice, in the Christian world the question is always what Jesus
would want us to do or what would he do in this scenario. This is signifying the nature of the
