The Auteur's Canvas: Truffaut's Analysis of Nicholas Ray and the Essence of La Politique des Auteurs in ‘Johnny Guitar’
See François Truffaut's review of Johnny Guitar in Modules (week 2)

Concrete examples from this source are used to sketch the most important characteristics of la politique des auteurs. In my interpretation, there is made use of the knowledge I acquired during the lecture and while studying the chapter ‘Authorial Function and Historical Precedents’ by Barrett Hodsdon. My answer is formulated in a short coherent essay. Words: 400 words (+/-10%), excluding footnotes and bibliography.
