Recruitment Process Reasons .
Section 1: Reasons For Recruitment .
A business recruits staff to support growth of the business. It may want to grow from an
international into a global one. An advantage of this is that there is a wider field of
candidates with qualifications, degrees, etc.
Another reason a business may recruit is because there is changing job roles. This is
efficient as they will already know their employee they are switching and their strengths and
weaknesses.
My third reason a business could want to recruit extra staff is because of a systems
change, and the way the ranks within the business work. A disadvantage of this is that it will
be time-consuming, as it takes time to find potential candidates for the job; they won’t appear
instantly.
A fourth reason of employee recruitment is to fill vacancies as a result of leavers/staff
turnover. A disadvantage of this is more expensive unlike having current employees fill their
role. This is due to the cost of advertising the role and then paying their wage/salary.
A fifth reason a business will want to recruit staff is to fill vacancies which are created from
extra space or product development. A business may notice gaps in the number of
employees and will want to recruit more. An advantage of this is that it will bring enthusiasm
to the business, and likely giving a boost to the morale of the business.
My sixth reason a business will recruit more staff is from internal promotions. There may
be a job or two that a business needs covering, otherwise it could cause problems. They
could choose this as it is a cheap method unlike external recruitment. In addition, the
employer will know their employees.
The seventh reason is because of a new office or branch has been opened. With a new
branch being opened, a business will need more employees to evenly distribute the
workload, and increase their workforce to keep up with the required production levels.
