There are two types of future tenses in French: futur simple , also called futur de l’indicatif , and future proche . Though they mean the same thing, they are used in different circumstances.

- whole infinitive as stem + endings - conjugated form of aller + the infinitive

- events that are happening far into the future
- events happening at a non-specific time
- guesses/predictions

- demands/imperatives
