Dr. G and class, The goal to lead change in healthcare includes for nurses to be active and competent in assessing, as well as, reshaping the policy environment to produce more effective, patient-centered care within health-care systems (Staebler, et al, 2017). The four spheres of political action in nursing are extremely important for the profession of nursing to continue to advance in a positive way. The four spheres include the workplace, the government, organizations, and the community. Nurses must be prepared to utilize the multiple spheres in order to influence health and social policy. First of all, in order for change to occur the nurse needs to be prepared to take on this role. The workplace is where issues are addressed regarding the job and patient care pertaining to policies and procedures. While the government addresses the laws and regulations that surround nursing practice. The interest groups or organizations play a significant role in supporting members of practice to advocate for changes in policies to provide more effective outcomes for patient populations
