First Activity
a) A dictionary activity, for vocabulary and dictionary skills development AFTER the class have
read or listened to your selected text.
This could be used later in the same lesson or in another lesson. You can use the vocabulary items
you have selected for pre-teaching or make a different selection. The vocabulary must be from the
text or clearly relevant to the text.

This will allow students to revise and consolidate what they have learnt
during reading of the article and pre teaching.
Divide the class into groups of 3
Give worksheet with a list of 12 answers in one column, and a list of the
vocabulary in another column.
Teacher’s Instructions
Ask the students to look at the meaning, then choose from the list of
vocabulary to go with the meaning in column one first.
The group to complete the activity wins.
