Diffusion of innovations is a theory that seeks to explain how, why, and at what rate new
ideas and technology spread through cultures.

Four main elements influencing the spread of a new idea:

1. The innovation itself,
2. Communication channels,
3. Time,
4. Social system.

The individual employs the innovation to a varying degree depending on the

the innovation and may search for further information about it.

The individual finalizes his/her decision to continue using the innovation.
Confirmation This stage is both intrapersonal (may cause cognitive dissonance) and
interpersonal, confirmation whether has made a right decision or not.
