NR 500NP Week 8 Assignment; Reflection On Learning Weeks 1-8

What were the most important concepts you learned in week 1? Why were these concepts important? How will they prepare you for your future role as a master's prepared nurse? I feel as though in week 1, I have already been given the opportunity to explore what becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) means to me and what I want to accomplish. I think that the core essentials of master’s education in nursing was a very important concept because it explained how this program will prepare us to become proficient and confident FNPs. It will prepare us with the skills and knowledge necessary for promoting health and leading change. Also, defining the difference between a BSN and MSN nurse really helped to put in perspective the personal growth and changes that will occur throughout this program to become an FNP. I hope that following evidence-based practice and research will allow me to make a true difference in the lives of entire communities by taking my role and making it just as much about healing as it about preventative care. I hope that I can provide information that will affect entire communities in a healthier lifestyle.
